Two of Tracy's designs (A lace cuff and 'Foxwood' an interactive pendant) were shortlisted for the prestigious Pewter Live 2012 Competition. She went on to win 2nd place for 'Foxwood'.
Her inspirations are varied; whether it is a wolf in a Grimm's fairy tale or from a beautiful piece of antique lace. Her main source of inspiration is nature; as can be found in her Beachcomber or Woodland collection. Her deep love of texture, can found in her Molten, Excavate, and Erode collections. There is a darker side to nature, which Tracy loves to explore. Not everybody's cup of tea; her Immoral range features, found bird skull and claws which have been immortlaised in silver.
Whether it’s finding an attractive piece of bark or a delicate bird or mouse skull; these found treasures all make their way into her jewellery.
Narrative and movement are two other key factors in her work. Her collection ‘Tales from the Wild Wood’ combines all of these elements.
Here you will find pendants with foxes peeping from behind trees; and by rotating the different layers the fox will be placed in different positions – either in the front, middle or background.
Fairy tale narratives are incorporated into mechanical pieces. Characters such as Red Riding Hood and the wolf move independently of each other, allowing the wearer to decide on where these characters will be positioned within their framework of trees.
These interactive and kinetic pieces bring in an element of fun and nostalgia, whilst allowing the wearer to constantly change the design each time she wears it.
